i found your letters yesterday.
in the pages of that diary i stopped writing months back...
in small white envelopes, now dirtied with time.
the words in them have stopped meaning anything now...they're just faint imprints of footsteps.
taken for a distance traversed long time back.
we got lost then and havent found our ways back yet.
i thought the envelopes would keep maps that would help me back home.
but all i found were these misleading footprints.
maybe,i will burn them today.

reminds me of one of my favourite dylan songs. It's a personal connection though.
"It ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe
It don't matter, anyhow
An' it ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe
If you don't know by now
When your rooster crows at the break of dawn
Look out your window and I'll be gone
You're the reason I'm trav'lin' on
Don't think twice, it's all right"

Let the new year herald a happier, less haunted today for you...face your past and it'll soon be incorporated into the timelessness of the present...I've gone through this and can understand how it must feel like...but believe me, holding on doesn't help...burning them will be tough, dear, but you have to be brave. They had to go some day, didn't they ?

Why burn them?
Letters, including everything else forms the past. Why erase it when it can be ur life's muse.

i can relate to this. The fact that you didn't burn them in the end. I can never let go either. Not completely.

How about you xerox them, keep the copies and burn the originals? It works, believe me.
