Time

someone i knew very well recently told me,"i dont know what time does...i dont know if its a good thing or a bad thing"
she was right.
i dont know if what time does is good or bad...it's strange how time benumbs us.something that affected me a lot a few months back has become just another memory for me,now.and like this person,i dont know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
i went to my school's reunion yesterday.
there were these girls who had given me a tough time in school-you know the usual bitching, mud slinging and all that.but something in me made me talk to them and take super giggly pictures with them.
i guess time had forced me to move on beyond those days...
and on the other hand, none of the people i was closest to in school turned up.today, they're just memories of good times i've had.i want them to remain that way.
now,is that a good thing?

for what is good and what is not good need we ask anyone what these things are? Our perceptions change with time. Time distances things because of which we can think or appreciate or reach into the depths of things and people. And your writings are heartfelt indeed.

time does good. it enriches your life, your experiences, and the way you experience life, which is invaluable. :)

though maybe i say that because i don't physically age. physical ageing can certainly be heartbreaking.

i've had these exact feelings as well...time acts funny, and somehow we dont really mind wat time is doing....we accept it as how it shud be...

Time heals hurts and endows us with enough strength to give the name of experience to what we were too involved in once to consider anything else except a mistake. It redeems strained relationships, gives perspective and objectivity to our own life and allows us to view with humour, in retrospect, numerous jarring and false notes we once felt to be blows to our ego. That's enough to accord it reverence perhaps.

And I agree with Mandy; maybe we're too young to feel the burden that time can prove to be. Let's re-read Shakespeare's sonnets, shall we then ?

P.S. Time makes hatred seem futile,it suddenly occurred to me.
I end on that complacently philosophical note...

Time's just about cool. It'll kill u someday but its also what ur life is.Every.single.moment.
Its like space. You know its blank but something does exist.

yes, beady.

That's what time does. Makes u closer to people u never thought u would be and the person u thought u were so close to suddenly turns out a distant memory

But thats what makes u experienced in life and the emotional trope of life. :)

u have said it all in this post of urs...time is magical...it does finally bring out the compassion in u, to the fore.....and u feel like talkin to those very folks who made life difficult for u during school! i think it reflects the basics of a human gene to get along with a fellow human....

Time as such does nothing - its neither good or bad - but what you do in that time determines its goodness

as einstine said.. nothing is absolute except for time.. it's really not upto us to judge by its effects nd consequence.

Time is best described by Pink Floyd in the song of the same name from the album Dark Side of the Moon.
